Amanda Linn McInerney is a visual artist, art educator and grants specialist. She brings a broad skill set to her role as a former Design and Technology educator and now, a Grants and Contracts Specialist in Sponsored Programs.

Amanda received her Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in 2004 where she majored in Visual Studies with a concentration in Printmaking and a minor in Horticulture. Afterward, she moved to San Diego, California where she continued to pursue her interest in the technical aspects of art such as a sculpture technician, mould maker and an archival framer.

In 2010, she moved to Austin where she continued her creative career, she also began working in corporate finance. Although the art and corporate worlds are often seen as divergent, she has always been aware of the importance of gaining practical skills as a useful part of a creative life. The knowledge she gained in the corporate world has enabled her to help support and grow art organizations she works with.

Amanda has also been highly involved with the local art community. Upon moving to Austin in 2010 this was one of her priorities. She began volunteering at nonprofit art gallery and studio nonprofit Pump Project Art Complex, and at the same time co-founded the Artist Screen Printing Cooperative (ASPCO). In 2017, after nearly a decade working dually as an artist and a corporate financial analyst, Amanda began teaching Design & Technology. In 2022, after her breast cancer diagnosis she found her home at St Edward’s University where she now guides faculty members on how to manage their budgets once they are awarded a federal, city and or private grant. Additionally, she is a member of the ICOSA collective, a group of 20 artists who operate a gallery, where she is a board member and Treasurer. She is also Vice President of ASPCO, where she regularly teaches screen printing to adults.
